We Do Wood is a danish furniture company by the two furniture makers and designers Henrik Thygesen and Sebastian Jørgensen. There furnitures are made of Bamboo a sustainable and environmentally correct material. But often Bamboo furniture looks a bit cheap – not so the Dining Table No. 1. Could be your new central place to share some good moments with your friends.

QUBIS HAUS is a coffee table that transforms into a dolls house with the simple addition of sliding panels made from wood and perspex, enabling the ‘designer’ to create different room layouts. The furniture has been made from locally grown, sustainable oak and hand crafted into various styles of building blocks with embedded magnets, that magically transform into pieces of modern furniture with a simple click.
Book Binder by Christoffer Martens, allows any collection of books to become freestanding. The kit consists of two end pieces of lacquered wood or raw oak that are fastened with an elastic band, stack the books between the ends – and voila – your books can stand freely on the floor, kitchen table – or wherever is most practical.
To obtain privacy and tranquility in these surroundings, a garden and optical glass façade was placed on the street side of the house. The garden is visible from all rooms, and the serene soundless scenery of the passing cars and trams imparts richness to life in the house. The Optical Glass house offers a welcoming, tranquil atmosphere rarely seen in such perfect combination with contemporary and minimal interior architecture.
Savioz fabrizzi architectes renovated the ‘maison boisset’ to update the old wooden house from its original agricultural use and take more advantage of the surrounding landscape to create a contemporary comfortable holiday home. The 16m2 cabin is located in “le biolley” a small village in the swiss alps close to Verbier. (Image © thomas jantscher)
